Surgery versus Conservative OsteOarthritis of Thumb Trial

The SCOOTT Trial
SCOOTT is a multi-centre, superiority and non-inferiority three-arm RCT which aims to answer two important questions regarding treatment of base of thumb osteoarthritis (BTOA):
-
Is surgery [Trapeziectomy or Carpometacarpal Joint Replacement (CMCJR)] superior to enhanced non-surgical management?
-
Is CMCJR non-inferior to trapeziectomy?
